  • As a guy, you have to give Ian Johnson some props.

Not only did he run the ball into the end-zone for the game winning two-point conversion to beat the heavily favored Oklahoma Sooners in one of the best college football games ever, the Boise State running back surprised his cheerleader girlfriend during the on-field TV interview by getting on one knee and proposing to her live on national television.  (She said yes).

  • The Midland?

What American accent do you have?
    Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

  • What do you think?

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/arson_on_trial

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The firefighters could see the blaze flickering over the hill before they even reached the church camp.

By the time they got to the five-room cabin, it was already too late. Ji Yun Lee lay curled in a ball on the floor. Flames roared over and around her.

Her father, Han Tak Lee, sat silent, barefoot on the grass outside. The night sky above him glowed orange as electrical arcs sizzled and popped.

Investigators quickly sifted through the sooty ashes, the charred walls and floor, the melted roof and the buckled pipes and came up with an explanation: arson — and murder. Lee, they said, had killed his daughter.

It was a textbook case, and Lee was dealt a guilty verdict and a life sentence.

Except the textbooks were wrong. Within a few years of Lee's conviction, scientific studies smashed decades of earlier, widely accepted beliefs about how fires work and the telltale trail they leave behind...

  • Wanted

I just got a Nintendo game system!!  And I got it for free, without having to stand in any lines or hit F5 a gazillion times.

No, it's not the one you're thinking of.  You're looking at the new owner of a slightly used Nintendo 64 system.  :)

Anyone out there have any games?  I checked out some stores, but I couldn't find any, and I'm a bit hesitant to buy used cartridges on eBay.

  • Janet and I drove down to Orange County for the Thanksgiving weekend.  We left San Francisco at 10:30 am Wednesday morning, and didn't get to her house until 7 pm.  That's 8.5 hours of driving!  :O

We came back this morning, and it only took us 5.5 hours to get back.
